Hey Friend,
Last week, on a gray, chilling morning, I discovered this beautiful pond. Looking into the water, I was mesmerized by the trees behind me. I hadn’t seen them reflected there until I came right to the pond’s edge.
Through February, we’ve written about our experiences with intuition. My moment at the pond made me think of you and about this exploration. There were metaphors to play with here! I thought: intuition can be like the trees that revealed themselves when I took a few steps closer.
Creativity is a way to go deeper, to discover what’s under the surface. Taking the time to write for a few minutes each week about the connection between your internal and external landscapes–your inner and outer lives–stretches and grows your intuition, the way we can strengthen a muscle.
Let’s see what’s waiting beneath the surface today…
On the third week of the month, our creative prompt draws inspiration from a poem. Wendell Berry is a favorite writer of mine and these lines from his poem ‘Our Real Work’ really open me up:
There are many different kinds of ‘knowing.’ I’ve had many times in my life when my path has not been straughtforward.
Intuition, a kind of inner knowing, has helped me when I haven’t been clear on which way to go.
Have you had an experience of that?
Writing Practice: Set aside 5-7 minutes for this practice. Write in a journal or open a ‘Journey with The Season’ document where you can return each Sunday.
Prompt: Write about a time in your life when you weren’t sure about what to do.
What helped to guide you? How did you come to move forward? What role did your intuition or inner knowing play?
I’d love to read about your experiences! Please share responses as a comment or email them to me at gabriellekm@gmail.com.
Deepening Practice: Spend some time this week just noticing, sensing when you feel your intuition guiding you. Journal about any of those kinds of moments that come up for you. Read back over the week and see whether there are any patterns.
PS: Someone introduced me to this beautiful music recently. It helps me to quiet my mind and connect to my creative energy. Do you have music that you turn to for that?
Sending you a week of creativity, intuition, connection and much much love,
Gabrielle Ariella
